Duathlon, Central Iowa Trail Association and the Capital Striders
will host this second annual off-road duathlon 10 AM. 8-9 mile mountain bike; 4.5
mile run; 6-7 mile mountain bike. Hilly. Start/finish line will be near the pond
in Greenwood Park, Des Moines, IA.
If you’re a runner but not a cyclist (or vice versa), consider entering the relay
category with another person who complements your skills. Leave a comment with Brian Palmer to request a relay partner.

The Wapsi-Great Western Line Trail was founded in 1990. The WGWL Trailhead is
located in Riceville, Iowa, a small rural community thriving in northeastern Iowa.
WGWL was completed to the Minnesota Border in 1999. The 18 mile stretch passes lakes,
prairie, farmland and marshland.
