The Celebrate Life Relay will spread awareness about organ and
tissue donation as 54 runners cover a 315-mile course over 48 continuous hours, crossing
Iowa. The relay takes place Apr. 16-18, starting near the Missouri River and ending
near the Mississippi River. Runners will travel through 39 towns, including Council
Bluffs, Des Moines, Iowa City and Davenport.

The Grand Blue Mile,
will be run entirely on West Locust St. in Downtown Des Moines. The course begins
near 17th Street, proceeds east, and finishes at Nollen Plaza, just short of 3rd
Street. An exceptionally flat and fast One Mile course, runners will notice
a very gentle rise between 15th and 10th Streets, followed by slight downhill grade
for three blocks, before leveling off over the final 200 meters for a quick finish.
